According
to Alexa.com, the top ten websites globally are Google, YouTube,
Facebook, Baidu, Wikipedia, Reddit, Yahoo, Google India, Qq, and
Taobao. All ten of these sites are Web 2.0 sites. They are so popular
for a variety of reasons from entertainment value to connecting with
friends, family, and people around the world, to having the answer to
any question right at your fingertips. Using Facebook as an example,
there is so much more to it than telling people what you are doing
and sharing pictures, which is mostly what it was used for in the
beginning. Now you can share videos, play games, make groups, join
groups, and meet people from all over the world, among many other
things. As far as having information right at your fingertips, you
can utilize anything from a simple search engine, to Wikipedia, to
Wikis that have very specific information all in one place. It has
been so interesting watching the internet grow and change into Web
2.0 and I can't wait to see what else they come up with.
